HELLO FUTURE WORLD is an exciting and dynamic project presented by Greywood Arts in collaboration with Ireland’s National Space Centre, and facilitated by American artist Scott Gorham.

Hello Future World asks young people to imagine radical futures through creative world building and sculptural explorations. From lessons on the history, ecology and languages of this world, students were encouraged to think laterally as they generated their own alphabets, circuit board landscapes and symbiotic creatures.

Visitors were invited to enter an immersive experience showcasing collaborative works inspired by the languages, topographies and organisms of the worlds invented by participants. The exhibition ran at the National Space Centre the first weekend in December, 2021.

On Saturday, December 4th, digital time capsules containing 3-D scans and images of each group’s works were transmitted into space to worlds known and unknown – using the National Space Centre’s satellite technology.

2021 Participants were 110 young people from:
5th Class – St. Fergal’s National School, Killeagh; 6th Classes – Gaelscoil Mhainistir na Corann, Midleton; Senior Room – Kyle National School, Youghal; Greywood Arts Youth Group, Killeagh.
