This year’s theme for Poetry Day Ireland is New Directions: Maps & Journeys.
In a time when we are intensely familiar with our immediate location and place, we’ll be imaging that place in a new way using the white space of the page as a map. We’ll also write our way toward real and imagined destinations. All you’ll need are a few sheets of unlined A4 paper (or larger).
Finished works will be installed at a dedicated Poem-tree as part of the May Sunday Art Trail in Glenbower Wood, Killeagh East Cork, May 1-9.
If you are from the area, we hope you will visit the poem tree and add your poem in-person. If you’re unable to do so, you will have the option to email us your poem and we can print it at Greywood Arts for you and add it to the tree.
